Wash okra thoroughly. Trim stems.

In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sugar, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and dill. Simmer until sugar dissolves.

Add okra to simmering brine. Simmer gently for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat, cool completely. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

Taste and adjust seasoning before serving. Add more vinegar for extra tang, or salt to taste.
