Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners. Don't forget to grease the pan!

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. No clumps allowed!

In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Room temperature eggs are best!

Gently fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined. Don't overmix!

Gently fold in the cherries. Try not to crush them!

Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
